Submission on Solicitation Laws to the Justice Committee (2005)

The EFC Submission to the Parliamentary Subcommittee on Solicitation Laws of the Standing Committee on Justice, Human Rights, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. In this February 2005 government submission, the EFC expresses concern for vulnerable men, women and children exploited through prostitution. The EFC expresses the need for broader dialogue and consultation on this issue, and makes a number of recommendations. The EFC calls for a refocusing of the issue in terms of exploitation, comments on the often-discussed "harm reduction" approach and recommends support for viable and accessible exit strategies for street prostitutes.
